In July, Project Equity CEO Evan Edwards was invited to speak at a convening on worker-owned businesses hosted by the White House National Economic Council. Edwards was joined by Senior Vice President Stacey Smith and representatives from federal agencies, legislative offices and the employee ownership community.
The event was an exploration of the Biden Administration’s work to expand the number of worker-owned businesses and support transitions to employee ownership, bringing together Administration leaders and key stakeholders from the employee ownership sector.
Edwards participated in the opening panel, which was moderated by Special Assistant to the President Alex Jacquez of the National Economic Council and included Assistant Secretary of Labor Lisa Gomez, Small Business Administration Senior Advisor Stacie Posey, Meegan Moriarity from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and ESOP Association President & CEO Jim Bonham.
Project Equity is committed to continue to advance employee ownership across the country. We look forward to further collaboration with federal, state and local governments as well as the broader employee ownership community. Together, we can drive meaningful change that strengthens local economies, preserves jobs and fosters economic equity.
